Backup Exec upgrade available – often free (if you already paid for it!)

Backup Exec 2012

Symantec has released  Backup Exec 2012, the latest version of their industry-leading data backup solution.

The new version has a number of interesting features, but the one that interests me the most is “P2V Recovery”.  That stands for “physical to virtual”.  This means your entire server can be restored as a “virtual machine” that runs in a window on another computer – nearly ANY computer.  This DRASTICALLY reduces downtime after a disaster.

If you have Backup Exec and your support contract is up-to-date, you’re entitled to the Backup Exec 2012 software.  You’ve already paid for it!

If you’re one of our clients, we will contact you to schedule an upgrade. If you’re not one of our clients, you should expect a call from your IT firm.
